Five Scandalous Facts About Famous Historical Figures

Warning – May Be Offensive To Some Readers

Those who have been deemed to be brilliant, successful, and almost saint-like often harbor dark secrets. There’s something titillating and deliciously scandalous when we learn about the private lives of people who have been historically revered. None of us are perfect, and their only fault is that they have become famous enough for people to dig into their private lives. Yet it’s still oddly interesting to experience the other side, or face, of these figures all the same. Below are some surprising facts about five famous historical people and their vices… enjoy!

Mozart Wrote A Song Called Lick Me In The Ass

One of the most celebrated composers of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was a total freak behind the scenes. The brilliant composer known for his masterpieces such as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) and Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) also composed a canon called Leck Mich Im Arsch (Lick me in the Ass) in 1782. Mozart also had an avid fascination with all things that emerge from one’s derriere, including writing several letters to his family members about farting, and even expressing a desire to shit on his cousin’s nose and watch it fall off. You can’t make this stuff up.

Gandhi Slept And Bathed With Naked Young Girls

Dat Ass!

Dat Ass!

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi is known for his leadership role in the Indian independence movement, and is a symbol of peaceful resistance who is remembered and revered throughout the world. Promoting tolerance and unity, Gandhi is drenched in a seemingly saint-like light. What is often omitted from history books however, is that the peaceful revolutionary liked to sleep with naked young girls in bed without having sexual intercourse with them (among them his grandnieces). Since he preached celibacy, he often conducted several sexual “experiments” to strengthen his resistance to temptation, including bathing with young girls with his eyes closed.

James Joyce Was Turned On By Farts

Ahhh flatulence

James Joyce, author of the literary masterpiece Ulysses had a mistress named Nora. His strict religious upbringing clashed violently with his rather colorful sexual serenades to her in his letters. Excerpts from these letters include gems such as:

“I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also”

And many other, quite poetic ones such as:

“You had an arse full of farts that night, darling, and I fucked them out of you, big fat fellows, long windy ones, quick little merry cracks and a lot of tiny little naughty farties ending in a long gush from your hole”.

Oscar Wilde Was Attracted To Teenage Rent Boys

I must admit, when I found out about this one it upset me. Wilde was one of my favorite favorite authors, and now I can only enjoy his work as opposed to admiring his person. Oscar Wilde was a dashingly flamboyant, handsome man and he was prosecuted and blackmailed for being gay. But his sexual orientation is not at all the issue – far from it. The issue was his predilection for teenage boys. Along with his lover, Lord Alfred Douglass or “Bosie”, these men shared teenage rent boys and oftentimes traveled abroad in order to access them without scrutiny.

King Tutankhamen Was Deformed Due To Incest

When I first learned of the Pharaoh Tutankhamen, and saw pictures of his tomb, I assumed the guy was a well-built king that looked, you know, similar to this:

Turns out, scientists have deduced that the Pharaoh King Tutankhamen actually looked like this:

The young boy-king had unusually large breasts, hips like a woman, an overbite, a clubbed foot, epilepsy, and a disease of the bones. His father and grandfather before him were also afflicted with similar health issues, but this did not stop the pharaohs from marrying their brothers and sisters, erroneously thinking that it would keep the bloodline pure. King Tutankhamen didn’t care though – we went right ahead and married his sister.

These are just a handful of famous historical figures and surprising facts about them. Some are funny, some are weird, and some are downright scandalous. In all cases, they were human, and many on this list contributed positively in some way to history – so we have that.
